Strange but familiar, difficult to describe with notes but unmistakable when experienced—this is demeter holy water, a 2009 unisex scent created by the us fragrance company demeter. The fragrance is designed to recreate not just the holy water used in ceremonies but the whole experience surrounding it. It leads the imagination towards an old chapel filled with polished oak pews, a porcelain font warmed by the sun and hints of incense in the air.
